MR. JORDI GUTIÉRREZ ROLDÁN

Director of Communications of the Madrid Business Confederation (CEIM)

A Graduate in Information Sciences by the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Jordi Gutiérrez Roldán began his career in 1977 at the evening newspaper El Noticiero Universal, devoting himself from the start to Catalan political information. In 1981 he combined this activity with work in the weekend news programs of Spanish National Radio in Catalonia, and later in the coordination of that radio network’s daily news program Catalunya Ahora.

In 1982, as an expert on Catalan politics, Jordi Gutiérrez Roldán joined the news program of the regional circuit of Spanish National Television (TVE) in Catalonia, where he took charge of following the political campaign for the general elections of that year.  Appointed head of the news programs of the Catalan Radio Network in 1983, he combined this task with the job of writing and presenting TVE-Catalonia’s weekend news roundup-debate Cara a Cara. In 1983 he also became the head of the Spain section of the daily newspaper Avui, and in 1984 he was appointed Delegate in Madrid of TV3-Televisió de Catalunya, where he was likewise in charge of the governmental, parliamentary and institutional news for nine years.

From 1993 to the beginning of January 2010, he held the position of Assistant Director of Relations with the Communication Media of the Spanish Royal Household, with the rank of Deputy Director-General. At present, Jordi Gutiérrez is the Director of Communications of the Madrid Business Confederation (CEIM)-CEOE.
