Chief of External Relations of FC Barcelona
Born in Manresa in 1961, Manel Estiarte Duocastella is an international waterpolo player who is now retired from competition. He was named the World’s Best Waterpolo Player on seven occasions (1986 to 1992) and he is the Spanish athlete who has taken part in the Olympic Games the greatest number of times: Moscow 1980, Los Angeles 1984, Seoul 1988, Barcelona 1992, Atlanta 1996, and Sidney 2000 where he was the Spanish team’s standard bearer. From the year 2000 to 2006, he was a member of the International Olympic Committee. In 2001 he received the Prince of Asturias Prize for Sports. At present he is the Chief of External Relations of FC Barcelona.
