The Foundation is funded by its trustees alone, devoting its resources to its projects and programs and to the financing of its daily operations.
The PGiF is financed solely by the annual contributions of its trustees, who also make additional contributions to specific projects.
On 14 December 2011, the Board of Trustees approved a budget of 2,136,500 euros for 2012, to carry out the Action Plan that it has approved.
As may be seen in the graph, 58% of the budget (1,239,100 euros) is allotted to projects, mainly including those aimed to foster the entrepreneurial spirit of young people, the improvement of employability and access to the labor market, education and school success, and career choices and talent.
35% (757,400 euros) of the resources go to management and administration, which include personnel expenses, current expenditure, expenses involved by the activity of the Foundation's governing bodies, and depreciation of investments in computer equipment and programs, furniture and other items.
Lastly, 7% of the budget (140,000 euros) is allotted to expenses for communication and public presentations of the Foundation.
The Foundation's accounts are subjected each year to an external audit, and then they are submitted to the Supervisory Authority for Foundations of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports.
The year-end closing of the accounting period for 2011 will be approved by the Board of Trustees at its meeting in June 2012, according to the provisions of the Foundations Act.
